Physical Tools

True 7-footer. Slow and lumbering big man. Doesn’t have much agility or quickness.

Poor lower body strength without much ability to fight through contact. Decent strength in arms and shoulders.

Plays hard and smart, clearly understands and works toward team concepts.

Interior Scoring

Very impressive understanding of spacing for a player of his archetype. Always moving and adjusting to where the ball is. Doesn’t impede drivers or driving lanes with his position, or look to force his post ups.

Slow footwork but deliberate. Isn’t able to move defenders with his strength but intelligently manipulates and takes advantage of defensive positioning to find angles to score.

Size advantage gives him a wider range of angles to find looks and finish.

Good touch from deeper post up spots. Can easily turn around and finish over the defense from up to 4-5 feet. Quickly converts a high number of attempts from further out, in floater range, as well.

Shooting

Good looking shot, can step out to 3 easily. Easy shot with a small jump and a strong, effective wrist snap.

Pushes his shot some. Ball comes out flat, especially on his (frequent) short misses.

Doesn’t shoot with enough volume to be a game changing shooting threat but he makes enough shots to draw his defender out of the paint and create driving lanes.

Passing

Good vision of the post. Generally wants to make the right play but gets focused on scoring around the rim.

Driving

Can put it on the floor for one dribble. When he tries to go towards the basket, he struggles to stay on balance and finish.

Defense

Not much of a rim protector. Can go into him and finish through is body. Doesn’t have the vertical pop to go get balls but his size and reach make him effective enough as a shot blocker.

Too slow to provide much of any defensive resistance on the perimeter.

Timing and reach makes him a solid rebounder.
